Speaker of the Senate

Greetings!
As the Speaker of the Senate, my role is to chair the Student Senate meetings and act as the representative of the Senate to the SGA Executive Cabinet. I was elected as a college senator, and then was elected Speaker at the first meeting of the 69th Senate.
I would like to take this chance to formally invite you to all of the Senate meetings, as they will be open to all. Any student, constitutionally, has the right to address the Senate whether in debate or with any concern you might have. If you'd like to communicate something to the Senate, just stop by the SGA office or send me an email, and I'll schedule you in ASAP.
The Speaker's general duties, on top of being a Senator and chairing meetings, are to track what's going on in all of the committees, help the Senators and anyone else who wishes to learn parliamentary procedure, and weigh in as the official representative of the Senate to other parties (cabinet, administration, faculty) on matters. This year, I will also be doing a Parliamentary Procedure Tip on the Senate's Twitter account(@HCSenateFloor) the day of each Senate meeting , visible on the Senate's home page.
