A quote from the comic strip "Dilbert" by Scott Adams: "Vice Presidents can't hear us, Asok. To them, our voices sound like the faint buzzing of flies." Fortunately, Houghton is not the real world so you won't have to crawl through the socio-political ladders of Houghton to get your concerns and ideas heard.
I have been involved in the SGA for all of my years at Houghton. My freshman year I was Class President, last year I served as College Senator, and this year I am serving campus as Vice President on the Executive Cabinet. It has always been my goal within the SGA to properly represent student concerns to the faculty and administration as well as achieve projects that would be helpful in improving life on campus as students and believers living in community.
This year I will be working with the Cabinet to coordinate service opportunities, like Make a Difference Day and RedCross blood drives; work with clubs to ensure that all their operations run smoothly; and encourage the senate to take proactive steps for the student body's betterment.
