No Show Policy
While the staff of the health center recognizes that there are numerous reasons for which a student might be unable or decide that they do not need to keep a scheduled appointment at the SHC, in order to serve each student in the best way possible, advance notice is needed if students will be unable to keep a scheduled appointment.
In order to remind students of the importance of providing this courtesy and to encourage responsibility in communication, the following procedure will be followed in the event of missed appointments without advance cancellation (“no-shows”).
- No charge is incurred for a student’s first “no-show”. However a letter will be sent through intra-campus mail notifying them of the missed appointment and requesting that they reschedule, if still needed, at their earliest convenience. The letter will notify the student that no charge is incurred for that first missed appointment, and will notify them of the policy for subsequent “no-shows”.
- For each “no-show”, thereafter, a charge of $10 will be incurred. A letter will be sent through intra-campus mail notifying the student of the charge and requesting them to reschedule the appointment, if still needed, at their earliest convenience.
- The counting of no-shows will start fresh with each new academic year.
