Along with the Honors at Houghton, students have the opportunity to be considered for the following competitive scholarship:

Honors at Houghton introduces students to challenging, interdisciplinary, experiential learning situations unlike anything they’ve encountered before. Our honors experiences go beyond intensive classroom discussions and require learners to immerse themselves in complex questions.

These honors experiences provide formative learning experiences that establish a framework of study and service, empowering our students to impact the world long after leaving Houghton College. Our honors alumni have pursued master’s and doctoral degrees at institutions including Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Cornell, University of Chicago and Indiana University in fields as diverse as neuroscience, molecular biology, law, music and theology. Other alumni have immediately taken their education around the world to impact others where they have taught in West Africa, performed linguistic surveys in Afghanistan, and joined urban development projects in Buffalo, N.Y.
