May 31, 2022

Sara Massey, Music Education Coordinator for the Greatbatch School of Music, has been selected to present a poster entitled “Pathway to Speech for Nonverbal Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder: The Use of Music to Develop Prelinguistic Gestural Communication,” at the 2022 National Association for Music Education (NAfME) National Conference.

The National Association for Music Education (NAfME), is among the world’s largest arts education organizations and is the only association that addresses all aspects of music education. NAfME advocates at the local, state, and national levels.

Sara noted her excitement through her passion for the art of music instruction,

Music touches everyone, but we often do not recognize the potency of this discipline for learning. The study of music is powerful in developing discipline, in discovering beauty, and for maximizing one’s potential.

This conference will take place November 2-6, 2022 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland, near Washington, D.C.
