Houghton Reduces Tuition for Undergraduate Online Classes

June 24, 2020

Beginning on August 31, 2020, Houghton University is reducing undergraduate online tuition to $490 per credit hour for the entire academic year.  “COVID-19 has wreaked havoc not only with people’s health and lives but with our finances as well,” says Vice President for Planning and Innovation, and Director of Houghton Online, Dr. Ken Schenck. “Houghton’s leadership has heard the concerns and is responding.”

This cut to online tuition will alleviate some of the financial strain that the current economic situation has placed upon students and make a Houghton education accessible to new online students. It is the latest example of Houghton’s commitment to making higher education affordable for students from all socio-economic backgrounds.

“Houghton is here to serve our students as best we can,” continues Schenck. “This rate change is just a small token of our appreciation for our students.” Previously, online classes cost $515 dollars per credit hour.
