Houghton’s Jeff Wiesman Publishes Parenting Book

September 12, 2018

Dr. Jeffrey Wiesman, associate professor of education at Houghton University, recently published a parenting book titled Education Begins at Birth: A Parent’s Guide to Preparing Infants, Toddlers, and Preschoolers for Kindergarten.

Wiesman and his wife, Annie, co-authored the book that provides parents of young children with the advice, strategies, and practical applications needed to create early educational experiences within the home. By fostering the intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, parents establish an environment of learning that inspires curiosity and creativity.

Education Begins at Birth encourages a language-rich environment, where young children learn beginning concepts in the arts, literacy, math, science, and social studies. Early exposure to these critical concepts and subjects establishes recognition and encourages new ways of thinking.

The book is published by Amalia Press and is currently available on Amazon and in the Houghton University Campus Store.
