Since 2001, select Houghton business and accounting students have managed a portion of the Houghton College stock portfolio and have grown the assets under management to approximately $448,000. Only a small percentage of undergraduate students nationwide receive this opportunity, and Houghton is a leader among Christian colleges with student-managed funds.
Nothing can beat this type of collaborative research and decision-making for a true hands-on educational experience. Houghton students have consistently outperformed major market indices and even some professional money managers.
