October 18, 2021

Over the summer, Houghton alumnus Jonan Pilet ‘17, published Nomad, Nomad, a collection of short stories exploring the lives of Mongols and expats as he searches for a sense of home in the nomadic culture. These interlinking stories tell about the strife that Mongolia, the place where he spent his childhood, faced after the fall of the Soviet Union.

Pilet will be working as the new Adjunct Creative Writing professor at Houghton University, teaching the Writing Fiction class this fall. He spent his college years studying writing at Houghton and the University of Oxford before he received his Master of Fine Arts from Seattle Pacific University. He currently lives in Upstate New York where he works as an author and a journalist for Food Safety News.
