Dr. Benjamin J.B. Lipscomb published The Women Are Up to Something: How Elizabeth Anscombe, Philippa Foot, Mary Midgley, and Iris Murdoch Revolutionized Ethics; a captivating history of four female philosophers who shaped the intellectual history of the 20th century. The Women Are Up to Something tells the inspiring story of four female philosophers and their triumph over the limitations of women in the mid-twentieth century of England. Lipscomb is a professor of philosophy, specializing in contemporary ethical theory at Houghton University. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Calvin College in 1996 then completed his Master of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1999 and received his Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame in 2002.
