Our Campus Activities Board (CAB) works out of here. This student-led group plans events like Midnight Breakfast and weekly coffeehouses. Student Council also operates out of this space. They represent the student perspective to the faculty and our Board of Trustees and are the governing body for all student clubs. There are lots of ways to get involved on campus!
htmlText_DCA7E7B2_C0FB_B2B3_41E3_876DD3125608.html = Java 101 is one of our two on-campus restaurants. Each semester, students get $100 Highlander Flex Dollars, as part of their meal plan, to use at our on-campus restaurants like Java.
htmlText_5E2EF2A9_7B17_D0FC_41D7_EF2549BE8EE3.html = Located in the Paine Center for Science, this is a study space for our Computer & Data Science students. There are open hours every weeknight and on Saturday, and student proctors to assist.
htmlText_55F157DD_7B09_306A_41D7_A7BB66870399.html = Our Equestrian Center features two indoor riding arenas, as well as a variety of stalls, riding areas, and a traditional classroom. Hands-on learning is part of how we do science at Houghton. Because of this, we have a lecture/lab model for some of our classes, where classes are a bit longer but incorporate the lecture and lab together. That’s why all of the desks and chairs are on wheels, because the faculty will actually rearrange the room and do the lab during class. And round-the-room chalkboards allow everyone to work on a problem at once.
