Through a special lease agreement with New Holland, Empire Tractor has provided Houghton College with two 2019 New Holland tractors. Empire Tractor arranged the agreement and will cover the annual lease fees. In exchange, Houghton College has named Empire Tractor the “Official Tractor” of Houghton College, as well as a sponsor of Highlander Athletics and Houghton’s nationally recognized Equestrian Center.
“It is a privilege to partner with Houghton College, a special place where my daughter, Laurie, received an outstanding education,” said Timothy Call, president and general manager of Empire Tractor. “New Holland is working with colleges and universities to provide the products they need to directly benefit students. Its rental program provides a new tractor on an annual basis, and then allows resale by the dealer.”
“Houghton College is extremely grateful to Tim Call, Empire Tractor and New Holland for these amazing new tractors,” said Karl Sisson, vice president for advancement and external relations. “They will tremendously impact the care and maintenance of both our Equestrian Center and our spacious Houghton campus.”
The two tractors are each designed to perform particular functions for the college. One tractor is equipped specifically for Houghton’s Equestrian Center, including outdoor pastures, trails, and the new indoor riding arena. The facilities department will use the second tractor to care for the main campus grounds.
“We are grateful for Tim Call and Empire Tractor for blessing us with a brand-new tractor,” said Larissa Ries, equestrian program director and assistant professor of recreation. “Tractors are an important part of daily life here at the barn. From dragging and watering all four arenas, to spreading manure, mowing pastures, trail cleaning, and a variety of other tasks, our tractors are well used. A huge thank you to Tim Call and Empire Tractor for supporting us in this way.”
