Assistant Professor of Double Bass

Assistant Professor of Music (Double Bass), Gilbert A. Pease, received his musical training through earning a B.M. degree in Applied Music from the Eastman School of Music and a M.M. degree in Performance (Double Bass) from the Juilliard School of Music. Mr. Pease is a retired NY State certified music teacher from the Batavia City School District where he taught strings and directed the High School, Middle School, and Elementary Orchestras for 30 years. He has extensive professional performance experience as a free-lance bassist/cellist/vocalist having performed on cruise ships as a staff musician, numerous orchestras, jazz groups, top 40 bands, several musical theater productions (pit orchestras), casino shows, and chamber music as director/cellist for the string quartet “Essential Elegance”. He resides in Lockport, N.Y. with his wife of 32 years, Kathleen, who is also a public-school music teacher. His hobbies include fishing, biking, camping, gardening, travel, and is an avid sports fan of the Buffalo Bills, Sabres, and the New York Yankees.
