Molly, a 1977 graduate, previously worked in the medical profession from “head to toe,” first as an optometric assistant in Syracuse, NY, and later as a podiatric assistant/office manager in Fort Worth, TX. After living in Texas for ten years while her husband Peter ’77 attended seminary and was an assistant pastor for youth ministries in a large Bible church, she and her family returned to Western NY in 1999.

Molly began working at Houghton College in 1999 in the Advancement Office as word processing coordinator and then gift processor. In August 2000 she became a faculty secretary (now titled academic departments coordinator). She currently works with the following academic programs: business & economics; communication; education; psychology & criminal justice; and sport, recreation & wellness.

Areas of Interest: Her hobbies include hiking, biking, gardening, and reading. She is a notary public for the State of New York.

Molly and Peter are the proud parents of three adult children, all Houghton graduates: Erin (Spear ’04) Gorham, Ryan Peter Spear ’07, and Jonathan Edward Spear ’11.

Most notably she is the grandmother of six lively boys: Ayden James, Ethan Benaiah, Owen Daniel, & Josiah Shepherd Gorham; and Griffin Ryan & Lincoln Tanner Spear.
