Chamber Ensembles

Chamber Brass

Houghton University Chamber Brass ensembles are designed to be flexible in size, configuration, and consistency in order to best serve the needs of our students. Groups such as trumpet choir or brass quintet are formed on a semester-by-semester basis, based on student and faculty availability and interest.

Chamber Percussion

Houghton University Chamber Percussion ensembles are designed to be a new experience based on membership, instrumentation, and repertoire. This helps create excitement and new opportunities for members of both the ensemble and the audience.

Chamber Strings

Houghton University Chamber Strings ensembles perform both standard quartet literature and sacred arrangements in a variety of settings including churches, concert halls, and on tour with the Houghton University Choir. In addition, the ensemble gains experience in producing and performing original arrangements and improvisations based on hymns and other worship music.

Chamber Woodwinds

Houghton University Chamber Woodwind ensembles perform music of all periods, from baroque to the 20th century. Groups such as clarinet choir, flute ensemble, and saxophone quartet are formed on a semester-by-semester basis, based on student and faculty availability and interest.
