Break Housing

Residence halls close during most university breaks. Students who need to stay on campus during breaks should complete the Break Housing Request form at the bottom of this page. Townhouse residents can sign up to remain in their townhouse over select breaks and should refer to instructions from the Townhouse RD.

Break Housing Request

Residence halls close during campus breaks which last at least five days. During this time, students traditionally go to a family member’s home or to another student’s home for the duration of these breaks. If a student is unable to find alternative housing accommodations, the college does offer to a limited number of students alternative housing on campus for the duration of the Thanksgiving, March, and Easter Breaks (we do not offer on-campus Christmas Break housing). To qualify for this, students must:

  • Live 400+ miles away (priority will be given to international students)
  • Register for a spot in break housing using the form below
  • Pay all fees associated with break housing (students will be assessed a fee of $20 per night of break housing if they register after Free Registration is closed or if they cancel their reservation within 24 hours of break starting)

International students are encouraged to sign up before the Free Registration deadline so that they do not have to pay to stay. The following dates correspond to Free and Pay-to-Stay Registration deadlines:

February/March Break:

    • Free Registration ends at 5:00pm on Friday, February 10,  2023
    • Pay-to-Stay Registration ends at 5:00pm on Friday, February 17, 2023
    • Total Cost for 8 Nights of Accommodation: $160 (free of charge for Free Registration)
