Houghton College Buffalo – Hope House

Houghton College Buffalo: Hope House provides a high-quality education to justice-involved and at-risk students.

By eliminating the barriers to higher education, providing wrap-around services, developing engaging curriculum, and creating a safe environment to learn, we hope to encourage individuals who might not typically consider a college education to pursue and complete their Associate of Arts degree.

Program Information

We offer an education grounded in faith, leading to an Associate of Arts degree, granted through our residential campus in Houghton, NY. Students benefit from a varied course of study; our liberal arts emphasis means academic growth in a variety of subjects.


Houghton College Buffalo: Hope House is located at 170 Kerns Avenue in Buffalo.

Designed for you

Small class sizes encourage a community feel and really let you get to know your fellow students and instructors. Peaceprints of Western New York provides case management services, including help with housing, unemployment, medical care and more. Daily on-site tutoring is provided and textbooks, transportation and laptops are provided at no additional cost. All financially qualified students attend debt-free

Preparation for the Future

Qualified students will complete a semester-long internship in their field of study. Our courses fulfill general education requirements and can be transferred to four-year colleges or universities for a bachelor’s degree.  An agreement with Buffalo State College allows students to transfer seamlessly into more than 170 programs.
