Houghton University Greatbatch School of Music presents 100 CELLO Festival & Concert

Join this massive collaboration of 100 cellists from New York and beyond in a day of workshops, master classes, and a final Cello Choir performance! Participants will work alongside local and guest artists in a fun, challenging, and enriching environment of music-making.

The festival is open to students in middle school, high school, college/university, adult learners,  as well as teachers and professionals.

Tentative Schedule

9am-10am: Registration and Welcome

10am-12:30pm: Cello Choir Rehearsals

12:30pm-1:30pm: Lunch (provided)

1:30pm-4:30pm: Workshops & Master Classes

5pm: Faculty/Guest Artist Recital

7pm: 100 CELLO Gala Concert*

8pm: Participants dismissed

*The concert is open to the public, no registration required. Casual dress code is allowed.

Meet the Artistic Director

Jeremy Russo is passionate educator and versatile performer who has appeared on stages across the United States, notably Carnegie Hall in NYC, Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., the Smith Center in Las Vegas, as well as in Europe and Asia. A native of Las Vegas, he has shared stages as the core string member with world’s all-time favorite pop singers, namely Adele, Andrea Bocelli, and the Eagles.

As an educator, Jeremy specializes in Cello Choir—bringing students and professionals together presenting specially arranged repertoire, whose genres extend from classical to pop music. Jeremy regularly works with youth orchestras and school orchestra programs, while directing the Houghton Cello Choir. His recent summer festival teaching appointments include the Killington Music Festival, Blue Mountain Chamber Music Festival, Desert Roots Rising Stars, and the Houghton Summer String Fest.

Currently, Jeremy is the Adjunct Professor of Cello at Houghton University, while maintaining a private teaching studio in-person and online across the country.
