Mark Borchert

Dean of Management and Creative Arts; Professor of Business and Communication

Dr. Mark Borchert has his Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Colorado, a Master’s degree in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas, and a graduate degree from seminary.  While in doctoral studies he served as a graduate market researcher at CableLabs, the cable industry’s major R&D institution.  He has worked in video production and denominational public relations and as a church communication consultant.  He has served as a film festival judge and workshop leader and for nearly a decade as director of the Mossy Creek Documentary Arts Festival.  His publications include book chapters religion and the press, film, and cyberspace.  Dr. Borchert enjoys incorporating both service learning and hands-on experiences into his marketing classes, including the use of Adobe Creative Suite, the Houghton University Media Lab, and university’s digital production equipment.
