Houghton University Wind Ensemble to Perform Free Concert

On Friday, December 13 at 8:00 p.m., Houghton University’s Wind Ensemble will present a free concert of musical selections for the public. The concert includes community members who elected to play with the Wind Ensemble for this one performance.

The concert will be conducted by graduate conductors Marissa Perez ‘18 and Dakota Hirsch ‘19. Perez is a second-year graduate student in the Instrumental Conducting program from Malone, NY. Hirsch, a first-year graduate student in the same program, is from Elba, NY.

The ensemble will be playing a piece by former Houghton student Jerome Bell ’15 and another by current student Drew Bundy ‘21. Other works include standards in the band repertoire, hymn arrangements, and pieces both old and new.
