Drummer Travis Nunn to Present Master Class and Clinic

March 21, 2018

Houghton University will welcome Travis Nunn, drummer for contemporary Christian music artist Chris Tomlin, to campus on Monday, April 2 for a master class and drum clinic. Registration for the event is $15 per person and $10 for Houghton students.

Nunn has played multiple sold-out U.S. and world tours with Tomlin, and has also supported artists Matt Redman, Christy Nockels, and Andrew Peterson. His visit to Houghton coincides with his next tour with Tomlin, which begins in Rochester on Thursday, April 5.

The master class with Houghton students – which all are welcome to attend and view – will begin at 4:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 5:00 p.m. (self-pay at the door or meal plan for students). The evening will end with a clinic at 6:00 p.m., followed by a Q & A session. During the event, Nunn will speak on various topics, from equipment and technique to his testimony and how he became a drummer.

“We’re excited to bring Travis Nunn here to the Greatbatch School of Music,” says Dustin Woodard, instructor of percussion at the college. “He has many years of experience performing all over the world, both with live music and in studios. This event will be an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in becoming a better drummer or musician.”
