Shannon Burdick joined the Houghton athletic training staff in the summer of 2022.

A 2018 graduate of The College at Brockport, State University of New York, Burdick earned a bachelor of science degree in athletic training, a CAATE accredited program.  After graduation, she worked part-time positions with the Hornell Dodgers (New York Collegiate Baseball League), Alfred University and Houghton College, before landing a position as Assistant Athletic Trainer at Simpson College in Redding, California in 2019.

Burdick has experience in athletic training services and athletic training room management for 23 NCAA intercollegiate athletic teams. In 2020-21 she also took on additional responsibilities at Simpson as the college’s Covid Liaison.

A native of nearby Alfred Station, New York, Burdick graduated from Alfred-Almond Central School.  She also holds a certificate in Bible Studies from Word of Life Institute and an associate of science degree from Genesee Community College.   She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and holds a New York State Athletic Training License.
