We like doing things (and being) together.
You’ll hear Houghton described as a community a lot. And it’s true. Our culture is an interactive, intergenerational mix—where you’ll greet a retired professor at chapel in the morning and take a kayak trip with your ecology class in the afternoon. The fact that we’re a residential campus has a lot to do with how close-knit we are. Nearly 90 percent of our students live in our residence halls and townhouses.
Community + Christian Fellowship
Yet what distinguishes community at Houghton from anywhere else is that it centers on Christian fellowship. Caring for and connecting with each other. Celebrating our difference and our commonalities. Listening and learning from everyone’s perspectives, experiences and ideas.
